Spiritual Maturity
As believers of Jesus Christ we go through difficult trials and face many temptations. A recent research was conducted and it showed the # 1 problem in our churches today is "SPIRITUAL IMMATURITY". One of the other major problems we see in the church is the failure on the part of many to live what they profess to believe. We also see the problem of division caused by careless words and many of us (Believers) are still dealing with worldliness. We as Believers must began to examine our own hearts. This may be a bit uncomfortable at times. There may even be a time in our lives when we will wonder if continuing the examination is too dangerous. Some may choose to take the easier way by turning back to their old way of life. DON'T DO IT! When that time arrives, you'll be on the verge of a new and wonderful blessing in your own life, a new step of maturity. Did you know that God is a construction worker? RIGHT NOW, He wants to build us into the person/people HE wants us to be by using the mold of His Son, Jesus Christ. This is also know as the process of SANTIFICATION...spiritual formation. A primary goal for our lives as His followers and we see it emphasized over and over again in Scripture: God wants us to be transformed into the image of His Son. This transformation is supposed to be progressive, meaning that every day we should be more like Jesus than we were yesterday. It's like going to the gym, we can start exercising the word of God by reading/studying, prayer/fasting, meditating/ memorizing and living it out as we are presented with situations that will allow us to choose to do what will be pleasing unto the Father. Not everyone who grows old, grows up. There is a difference between age and maturity. Mature Christians are spirit-filled Christians who encourage others and help build their church. God is looking for mature men and women to carry on HIS work, and sometimes all HE can find are little children who cannot even get along with each other. "Throughout the Bible are people who turned defeat into victory.....Instead of being victims, they became victors."
